“I am the Good Shepherd. I know my own and my own know me.”
the more time you spend becoming ‘his own’ the more you become deaf to every other voice but his. because of relationship and the growing covenant of friendship and trust, recognizing the sound of his voice becomes second nature. the more you listen, the more you hear. if you try and enter his gates without the covenant of trust and time spent in relationship with the father, you’re coming in as a thief and a robber. you cant recognize his voice if you’re not familiar with his heart. but though we are thieves and robbers, in his mercy and heart full of compassion, he lays down his life of his own accord and only desires that we come to him with willing and tender hearts to say yes to his invitation to be apart of his flock.
“if anyone enters by me he will be saved and will go in and out and find safe pasture.”
“when he has brought his out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him for they know his voice.”
